Hello World!
Well well well, the time has come. Welcome to my cozy little corner of the internet, where I will be sharing my journey of creating what will hopefully be an exceptional concept for my magazine!
As I have run through my roughly drafted plans for this project, there's one part that concerned me the most; the start. I've noticed that beginning a project always seems to be the most daunting part of the process no matter the type, so I've set out some goals to help me ease myself into this large undertaking!
First off, I need to decide, and quickly at that, what the main theme of this project will be about; I have some ideas here. In my limited experience with magazines, I can jump to a few names of those that interest me... for my first topic of interest, fashion, GQ comes to mind.

What intrigues me here is not only the topic (I'm enthralled with men's fashion) but the focus on visuals. As for my other possible choice, these topics are mainly visual which for me makes it easier to deliver to my audience what I have to show.
On the other hand, the newer Hodinkee magazine is a prime example for my other passion; watches.
Hodinkee goes to the extreme of visual satisfaction, with attention to visuals oozing off of every page. This type of magazine however has a vastly different format and distribution method which I would have to keep in mind when selecting my theme. Hodinkee's editions are more spread out, focusing on "quality over quantity" rather than weekly or monthly issues like many other major magazines like GQ.
With this initial research and narrowing down, I feel confident in the start, and hopefully this will continue into the end, of my magazine issue! I'm glad I will have this blog to utilize in order to express my thoughts and flesh out my ideas to ultimately bring this project to life; I can't wait for the final product!
